![]() |
The interior design of the house in Rossum is an integrated part of the overall design. It enhances the practical use of the spaces of the house and refines its architectural qualities. | |
| This isometric drawing belongs to the preliminary design. It gives however a good overview of the ground floor spaces. On the top is the fireplace. At the bottom is the storage space that connects with an in-between-space to the dining-kitchen. The sequence of the south-side spaces continues with another small in-between-space leading to the living. The sequence continues visually through an opening into the South-side seating corner with at the end the niche of the studio space. | ||

Another planter closes in the seat on the other end of the space under the roof light. The wall behind the seat goes up high as a wind protection on the top floor balcony. In the wall an opening connects with the kitchen allowing contact between the two spaces. In front of the greenhouse-like space a canopy extends over the terrace casting a shade over the seating area. |

| On the north side of the living, behind the chimney of the fireplace, an area is designated as a working space with a desk and cabinets. Here under the roof light we also find an intimate seat for watching television, making music or having a private conversation. The seating corner is placed a view steps up from the living space and is divided from it by the cabinet that holds the sound system and television set. The television can be turned within the cabinet and be viewed from the two-seater or from the living space by a larger audience. | |||
